LADY ~Saigo no Hanzai Profile~

I never thought I’d get too hooked with a J-Drama that was close to keeping me committing the same thing I did with Prison Break‘s season 1. That usually happens when my brain gets stimulated. I’m not complaining though. I’d like to thank TBS for creating this drama.
LADY ~Saigo no Hanzai Profile~ reminded me of differential diagnoses, especially that of House’s team. I’ve read that a lot of people were not fond of the drama. Well, that just proves that I’m not part of the “a lot of people.” Thank goodness.
The drama is about the Crime Profiling Support (CPS) team formed to do criminal profiling as support for the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Tokyo. The CPS team consists of its head Yuki Akira (Kimura Tae), the medical doctor Terada Takehiko (Kaname Jun), the statistics and code master Shinbori Keisuke (Hiraoka Yuta), Okue Marie (Sudo Risa), and young Psychiatrist Kazuki Shoko (Kitagawa Keiko). The team was initially not fond of each other and because they were very good in their respective fields, each of them were close to working on his own.
The CPS Team

One thing that bothered me about this drama was the way Kazuki would imagine the crime in her mind and “reenact” them. I’m not really sure if she actually proactively “followed the steps/moves” of the criminal or was it just the production’s way of showing viewers what’s in her mind. Then in the latter episodes, I saw Dr. Terada did the same. Crazy things are not new to me but I’m bothered if they actually did those things. Being in the medical/health and social science, I’m definitely concern. However, I enjoy the crazy things in this drama. Or should I say the crazy people?
There was one case when Kazuki gave her ‘profiling’ with not particular logical reason to back it up. I thought it was “reasonable” because by that time, they don’t really know what caused the perpetrator commit the crime. One could only imagine.
“Shoko Kadoki”

By the way, there was one funny scene where Kazuki’s name was misspelled in English. It was funny because it was written on the title of Kazuki’s own thesis. Misspelling one’s own name? Haha!
