Nodame Cantabile

I can’t remember why I watched Nodame Cantabile. I do remember though what
and who kept me going. I am not the type who will keep going, watching a drama that is, unless something or someone caught my attention. In Nodame Cantabile‘s case, it was music. And, oh well, Chiaki Shinichi (Tamaki Hiroshi). Music is music. That explains everything. As for Tamaki.. do I really have to state the obvious? Haha!
Tamaki Hiroshi as Chiaki Shinichi

Watching Chiaki conduct was impressive. It was like, I can’t really say it but I’d like to call it very passionate. Yes, Chiaki was very passionate whenever he’s conducting an orchestra. I actually thought I’d see someone as passionate as him in real life. Yeah, Chiaki inspired to pursue my dream to watch a live orchestra. I also like him being a discerning critique, especially when it came to Nodame.
Ueno Juri as Noda Megume/Nodame

I didn’t like Nodame. She freaked me out with her untidiness and childishness. Yes, I have to emphasize that. But I didn’t hate her. I didn’t dislike Ueno Juri too. I actually love watching her play the piano. I preferred Nodame over Chiaki when it came to playing the piano. I’m glad Ueno portrayed Nodame in a passionate way especially as a pianist.
Some of my favourite scenes of the series were when the S-Oke made its debut in the school festival and when they performed a rock-ish orchestra Symphony No. 7. The latter being the most favourite of them all. Sore wa kakkoi deshita. My bad I don’t know how to successfully embed the videos.
I may not like Nodame’s bad habits but I can’t deny that Nodame Cantabile was really interesting. And if you watch Chiaki conducting, you might just ask for more.
