Lovestruck Singles Edition

Just like its original edition, Lovestruck, I don’t know why I exactly bought Lovestruck Singles Edition. Perhaps because it was a book fair day. There are a lot of similarities between the original and the Singles Edition. Most likely because no matter what one’s status is, the most important thing is having a solid relationship with God. Single or not, as long as you have Christ in your life, you’re more than OK.
“Your identity should be complete before you enter into a relationship.” This was not a surprise to me. I’ve learned and lived by this for years, and I owe it to God for He taught me this.
This book talks about the common reasons for people staying single as well as the most common and lame excuses for people entering a relationship. One can or may identify oneself among the lists. One of my favourite lines from among these concerns was: “Lahat ng tao busy. Kahit ang mga tambay sa kanto, busy sa pagtambay.”
Pointers or things to reckon for choosing a potential life partner are also included in the book. Again, asking God for guidance is non-negotiable. It’s the top most to-do thing. While reading this portion, I couldn’t help but remember my friends who’ve been married. I’ve known them when they were still dating so they were my quick reference when it was mentioned that both parties’ parents should be involved. And I can dare say now that they’re married, their relationship with their in-laws are filled with peace and love. Actually, both parties are friends with their partner’s families, friends included. I thank God for having such friends. It’s good to have good examples.
“You will always get what you settle for.”
