Rurouni Kenshin

I should’ve updated this blog a long time ago. Wow, “last month” seems pretty long.
I’ve already watched the live action films of Rurouni Kenshin, thrice, and Beck. Yeah, Satoh Takeru got me curious.
Because the RK fever I had wasn’t easily quenched, I decided to watch the Anime. Again, yes. Then it dawned me what kind of Anime I was into way back in high school (middle school, if outside the Philippines).
Rurouni Kenshin was a political Anime. The Japanese history used was the time after the Tokugawa Era and after the first ten years of the Meiji Era.
Unless you were born in the ’90s, or you’re my friend Ysabs, you should know about this Anime. Thus, there’s no need to talk about the plot.
As far as I remember, Himura was the only lead male character that has become my favourite. Midou Ban of the Get Backers was not much of a favourite compared to Kazuki. Cho Hakkai of Gensomaden Saiyuki was member of a quartet. So yeah, Himura stood out.
When I realized that I’ve finally finished the Anime, OVAs not counted, I felt that pang in the chest brought about separation. I usually get it after watching a series or after reading a book/novel. It was sad.
I miss RK. I miss Himura, Sagara, Tenaki, Seijuro, even Saito.
